The journey of feeding your baby is such an exciting one, but it can also be met with worry and confusion about how best to approach it. As a mum to three I hear you when you say you’re unsure and my passion and purpose at Her Nourished Kids is to help parents understand normal and common childhood development as it relates to meal times and behaviour at meal times AND provide the tools needed to support families through those (often challenging) behaviours.

My signature evidence-based Meal Time Success programs have supported hundreds of families through the (tricky and confusing) first six years and we have a beautiful recipe book for kids and families from around 12 months of age. However, I noticed so many parents were seeking recipe ideas for their babies who were newer to food.

In this recipe book I aim to provide you with meal time inspiration and recipes to see you through the first six months of your baby’s food journey (and beyond). I believe every parent is doing the best they can in the moment they are in with the resources they have available to them. With this recipe book I simply hope to add to your parenting toolbox so that meal times can be successful, easy and fun (yes, it’s totally possible!).

At HNK we are supportive of traditional weaning (spoon feeding) and Baby Led Weaning when approached in a baby-guided manner (ie watching closely for your baby’s cues at meal times and responding accordingly - see our Meal Time Success for 0-12m for more information). Most recipes included within this book can be served as a puree, mash and/or finger food. We’ve made it easy for you by providing simple adaption instructions so that you can serve your baby food in the way they love and prefer as well as adapt for different family members (including yourself!).

It’s important to note that whilst ages have been suggested within this recipe book, these are indicated as a guide only. Please adapt and adjust according to your baby’s needs.
